An abdominal incision is hardly necessary anymore. For a long time now, up to 90 percent of all gynaecological procedures are performed endoscopically – accordingly with significantly less pain and problematic consequential damages.

This is made possible by new video and computer technologies and tools. The minimally invasive surgery (MIS) or “keyhole surgery” is becoming increasingly important in the surgical treatment of all benign diseases and also in the fight against many cancers such as cervical or endometrial cancer.

At the WRZE, we operate with a minimally invasive approach by means of Robotic Surgery, e.g. robot assisted. Our da Vinci® surgical robot offers an enormous advantage over the traditional laparoscopic “straight stick”. Since 2006, robotic surgery has become increasingly popular in the field of gynaecology. Although initially and primarily used in the USA, it is now being implemented in Europe and many other countries worldwide.
