Both benign and malignant diseases can be successfully treated with the da Vinci® system.

Operations of malignant diseases:

  • Endometrial surgery (uterine cancer)
  • Cervical cancer surgery in (cervical neck cancer)
  • Ovarian cancer surgery (ovarian cancer)
  • Vaginal carcinoma surgery (vaginal cancer)
  • Borderline tumour surgery (ovarian)
  • Surgery on a relapse of malignant tumours in the pelvis area (recurrence of different primary tumours)

Operations of benign diseases:

  • Uterine fibroids (benign muscle tumours)
  • Endometriosis (benign growths of “endometrium”)
  • Uterine Descent/Prolapse (sagging or protruding uterus and / or vagina)
  • Urinary incontinence (involuntary loss of urine)
  • Tubal surgery and refertilisation (reopening blocked fallopian tubes)
  • Uterine dehiscence reconstruction (incisional hernia of the uterus after cesarean section)
  • Adhesiolysis (e.g. adhesiolysis after previous surgery)

Robotic surgery has many advantages: compared to conventional methods, it leads to lower blood loss and a shorter hospitalisation period. Particularly severely obese patients will benefit from this procedure because they can undergo robot-assisted sugery without major difficulties.
